No home is complete without.......

Searching the net today I found
Fallen Princess: Demented Product of the Day: The Solar Powered Wav...: "Would the customer for a waving Queen really care that it was solar powered? Just a thought."
As my Boss has sent a letter suggesting we celebrate the Royal Wedding perhaps we could have this for the garden, PLEASE!!!!!!

For those who can't be bothered to follow the link at because every Blog needs a waving Queen.

Skint again!!!

Well, here we are 13 days away from payday and after tranfering £50.00 from my savings I have exactly £60.00 quid left.   Hmmm this is not good....
I am meant to be saving for our holiday in Vegas for our 10th Wedding Anniversary in December 2012, but each month the same happens I transfer money to our savings and then transfer it straight back meaning after a good start on the first month for the next 3 months I had saved erm exactly £30.00.  I am thinking at this rate I will be lucky to have a day trip to Margate.  So where does the money go????
I have a sneaky suspicion it may go on Taxi's, beer, chocolate, and bread!!!
So I have done some research apparently so the money saving books and websites say, a spending diary is a good place to start, so dear reader I intend to keep a diary. Hmmm this could be bad me fears!!!
Also no take outs (nasty fattening things that make you bulge out of your clothes and make your bank balance dimish rapidly)
There is also a money saving programme starting on Tuesday on Channel 4 that I may review on here, that I will watch in the name of research.
However, there are some things I refuse: reusing teabags, using soap on my face, and living entirely on lentils!!!
Anyway I will let you know how it is going, and yes for those who know me it is now 2 days past my pay day, life stopped me from completing this post!

Highway to the Dangerzone

Ok, it's been a while since I shared a little Guilty Pleasure with you!!

Yes I admit it I love that cheesy, 80's classic film, with its fabulous soundtrack as much as I am loving Charlie Sheen's latest crack and porn induced, car crash meltdown.  Now if I can only find how to shove on the dangerzone music on here!!!!

Yeay, I might be a genius!!!!

Look at what we've become

Today, whilst meandering down my local high street I was horrified to see that the corporate chain stores have invaded!!

Yes, Costa have invaded my local High Street, relentless on its quest to caffeinate the nation, as I walked by I saw its packed interior, and I shed a silent tear!
It's not that Costa is so bad! But it signals the homogenising of our High Streets, till they are sterile interchangeable places, stripped of individuality, with no personality, identikit from Darlington to Dartmouth, and yet I know people will flock glad to know they have what everyone else has and their not missing out!!
Yet I mourn for the dusty shoe shop that was once there, with its expensive, staid, classic shoes and a look reminiscent of Are you being served, and I fear that the high street that was once the slightly scuzzy girl who had a sense of humour and a vintage wardrobe full of surprises, has grown into the organised grown up who shops at Marks's, wears Court Shoes, drinks chardonnay and works in an office! and I miss who she once was
